TESTIMONIAL: My son has been in Gaelscoil na Laochra for two years, having joined last year in Junior Infants. The school is a happy place and, as parents, we have found it really easy to get to know the teachers and develop a good relationship allowing us both to highlight any achievements or issues that occur day to day. Our family recently moved over from England and we really enjoyed watching my son learning to speak Irish through immersion and make new friends. One of the reasons we selected a gaelscoil was to help develop linguistic skills. My son is already reading in Irish and English and the school does a lot of work on STEM subjects too. The school is very active and the students take part in a wide range of activities from dancing, circus skills, science competitions, swimming and have even done some programmes with TG4 this year. We are looking forward to the new school building which is due to open this year and will provide the children with more playing areas as well as optimum teaching facilities. Finally, we really like the multidenominational ethos which means the school is inclusive to all religious backgrounds and none while still celebrating all the key Irish holidays throughout the year.
